Change

No matter who you are,
no matter what you did,
no matter where you’ve come from,
You can always change,
become a better version of yourself.
― Madonna

Each day is a new opportunity to be a better version of yourself – to not repeat the mistakes of yesterday. We all make mistakes, say things we regret and make bad decisions. However, you are not your mistakes. At any point you can choose to rise above all the petty BS and make changes in your life for the better. Never forget, you and you alone decide how your story will end.

Choose to Smile

It was only a glad “Good Morning”
As she passed along the way;
But it spread the morning’s glory
Over the livelong day.

-Carlotta Perry

One smile can change the world.  How you choose to greet the day sets the course of how it is going to unfold.  If you start the day in a bad mood with negative thoughts – guess what?  You’re most likely going to have a bad day.  Instead, if you choose to greet the day with a smile and a little optimism that today is going to be a good day, you will open yourself up to embrace the good that exists in every day.  You are better equipped to handle the hiccups that come your way and take it in stride not letting the small things ruin your day.  Attitude is everything. . .so, as we begin a new week, choose to embrace the glory in each day and let no one and nothing steal your sunshine.

Start Anew

I’m not saying it’s going to be easy. Nothing in life is easy. But that’s no reason to give up. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish if you set your mind to it. After all, you only have one life, so you should try to make the most of it.
― Louis Sachar

As you begin a new week, it is important to remind yourself that it is a chance to start anew and make different, better choices. Remember anything you want is possible if you dream it. So, no matter what happened yesterday, don’t let that discourage you from trying again today.

What You Seek

The quest for self-improvement and personal growth is now an integral part of my life. I’m always looking for ways to increase my capacity to grow, develop and achieve more.  And that means, I’m willing to read, observe, listen, discuss, research and do whatever it takes to become a better improved me. I hope you are too.

― Murali Murthy

Self-improvement and personal growth should be integral parts of your daily life.  Each day you should embark on a quest to be a better version of yourself and not to repeat the same thoughts of yesterday.  We often say we want our lives to change, well, what we often forget to remind ourselves is that change begins from within.

A Fulfilling Life

There are five important things for living a successful and fulfilling life: never stop dreaming, never stop believing, never give up, never stop trying, and never stop learning.
― Roy Bennett

The key to a successful and happy life isn’t some complicated jigsaw puzzle. It starts with finding peace within yourself, embracing who you are and truly believing in a life full of limitless possibilities. Believe in yourself and fight for your dreams…and everything you seek in life is truly possible.

Make a Promise

Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.

― Ashley Smith

It is important that each day you make a promise to yourself to pause throughout the day to appreciate the beauty surrounding us. Whether it be the Sun’s luminescent rays, a bird taking flight or the caress of the wind against your cheek. Life is full of miracles if we only choose to open our eyes and see. Learn to appreciate every moment of life for tomorrow is not promised.

Life Moves at its Own Pace

“It is always the simple things that change our lives. And these things never happen when you are looking for them to happen. Life will reveal answers at the pace life wishes to do so. You feel like running, but life is on a stroll. This is how God does things.”

― Donald Miller

Life cannot be forced.  And, the greatest lesson you can learn in life is that you are not in control of anything outside your own consciousness.  Life is going to do what it pleases, when it wants to.  We’re not meant to have all the answers; rather, we are here to learn how to trust in God to not lead us astray.  The point of life is learning to have faith and finding peace in not knowing what lies around the next corner.

Growth & Transformation

“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.”

― C. JoyBell C.

Life is all about growth and transformation.  But in order to grow and transform into your highest self, you must go out into the world and expose yourself to the good and bad.  You must experience all facets of life in order to learn the lessons that lead to change, which in turn inspires growth and a shift in perceptions.  Real growth and change isn’t going to happen by locking yourself away in a cave or a room and meditating all day.  Rather, you must lay your soul bare to the world and work hard to create the world you dream of by transforming the way you think, behave and act.

Juggling Five Balls

“Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity. And you’re keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls…are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered.”

― James Patterson

As you progress through life, you begin to reassess your priorities and values. You hopefully learn that your family, health, friends and integrity are priceless. They are like glass balls – fragile and irreplaceable. These are things worth fighting for because if you are lucky enough to collect all four balls, you have all you need for a fulfilling life. And yes, it’s hard to juggle all five balls when you throw work into the mix, but do you really want to find out what life’s like when you drop one of the glass balls? I surely hope not. So, take each day and check the excuses at the door.  Make time to nurture the aspects of your life of utmost importance – friendships, family, your health and your integrity. For when it’s gone, it’s gone…

Know Yourself

“Know who you are, and be it. Know what you want, and go out and get it!”

― Carroll Bryant

Be secure in who you are and each day strive to be that person.  There will always be someone who has a negative opinion of you and your choices, but at the end of the day, you must remember this is your life.  So, ignore the naysayers and do you.  Everything else will fall into place.
