Walk the Walk

“Some days you must learn a great deal. But you should also have days when you allow what is already in you to swell up and touch everything. If you never let that happen, then you just accumulate facts, and they begin to rattle around inside of you.”

― E.L. Konigsburg

We often hear that life’s difficult moments are opportunities to learn and grow. But what’s the point of learning all these lessons if you don’t put it to practice. So, the key is taking the hard lessons we learn and actually incorporating it into your everyday life. It’s about not simply talking the talk, but actually walking the walk. So, get out there and start showing the world how much you have grown from the many stumbling blocks you have overcome. Don’t let those tears you cried have been in vain.

Keep Going

“That’s all you can do in this world, no matter how strong the current beats against you, or how heavy your burden, or how tragic your love story. You keep going.”

― Robyn Schneider

No matter how long the night, no matter how tired and beaten down you are, you keep pushing onward and never give up. You dig deep inside yourself and find the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other. And even though you may not be able to see it now, you will emerge on the other side of the storm. Just.Keep.Going.

Don’t Hold Back

“Stop trying to be less of who you are. Let this time in your life cut you open and drain all of the things that are holding you back.”

― Jennifer Elisabeth

Don’t hold back. Embrace all that you are and let your own unique light shine as bright as the most luminous star. This means you must let go of whatever chains are restraining you from breaking free, whether that be your past, toxic relationships, a job, whatever. You get but one chance at life, so put the pedal to the medal and go full throttle.

Ride the Waves

“There are two kinds of people,’ she’d said. ‘Those who coast through life like ducks in a row, following one after the other, and those who ride the waves.’” Tears spilled down my cheeks, and my voice cracked. “‘Ride the waves, baby, and live. Live.”

― Gena Showalter

Life isn’t about playing it safe. It’s not about doing what is expected of you or of conforming to what society dictates. It’s about figuring out what your path is and following it. It’s about learning what your truth is and living it.

Learn to Deal

“Happiness is not the absence of problems; it’s the ability to deal with them.”

― Steve Maraboli

Getting through life and being able to experience its joy is all about learning how to deal with life’s many ups and downs. No one has a life free of problems and struggles…no, it’s just that some learn how to better roll with the punches.

Never Too Late

“Life can take so many twists and turns. You can’t ever count yourself out. Even if you’re really afraid at some point, you can’t think that there’s no room for you to grow and do something good with your life.”

― Portia de Rossi

Don’t give up because one or several doors close. Don’t give up when the floodgates swing wide open and the currents threaten to take you. No, it is when your back is up against the wall that you swing the hardest. For it is never too late to come from behind to win the game . . . and it is never too late to change the course of your life.

Peace Comes From Within

“Some people think that a place can save them… Like if they could just be somewhere else, their lives would be totally different. They could finally be the people they always wanted to be. But to me, a place is just a place. If you really want things to change, you can make them change no matter where you are.”

― Hannah Harrington

How often have you found yourself saying, “If I had more money, a better job, a better house, etc. …I would be happy and could start living the life I always imagined and be the person I want to be.” Well, guess what, having all those things won’t magically fill the void and emptiness inside of you and make you happy. No, you must make the changes within and learn to find inner peace that transcends whatever circumstances you find yourself in.

Tough Times

“Sure it could get rough sometimes, but life wasn’t a Hollywood movie. Shit happened. You fought, you screamed, and somehow you worked like hell to get out the other side still intact.”

― Samantha Young

Life isn’t a fairytale. It’s filled with pain and struggles. And you will have to fight hard to make it through the rough and turbulent times. However, it is often these moments where you had to claw your way out of a fathomless pit that define who you are. So, never wish away any of your scars; rather, use your past struggles to prepare for the rough waters that lay ahead.

Dance in the Rain

“When it rains it pours. Maybe the art of life is to convert tough times to great experiences: we can choose to hate the rain or dance in it.”

― Joan F. Marques

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; rather, it’s learning to find joy even in tough times. For you may find yourself missing out on life by trying to wait for clear skies that may never come. So, no matter what you are going through, try to find something to smile about.

Don’t Hold Onto The Past

“It isn’t good to hold on too hard to the past. You can’t spend your whole life looking back. Not even when you can’t see what lies ahead. All you can do is keep on keeping on, and try to believe that tomorrow will be what it should be—even if it isn’t what you expected.”

― Jim Butcher, Death Masks

Life is all about moving forward. You can’t live in the past. You can’t change what has already come to pass. The only thing you can do is use your past as teaching moments and have faith that the future will unfold as it’s meant to.
