Stop Searching

“Stop searching the world for treasure, the real treasure is in yourself.”

― Pablo

One of the most important lessons you will learn in life is that what you may spend a lifetime searching for is inside of you. That happiness and peace you so desperately seek can only be found from within. And the sooner you recognize this, the closer you will come to obtaining the life you crave.

Forgiveness

“Forgiveness is not something you do for someone else; it’s something you do for yourself. To forgive is not to condone, it is to refuse to continue feeling bad about an injury.”

― Jim Beaver

We have all been hurt by others and by life’s circumstances. But the key is knowing when to let go of these past hurts instead of carrying the bitterness and anger around like dead weight. And the answer lies in forgiveness. In order to move forward, you must forgive those who have hurt you…including yourself.

Be Authentic

“What it means to be authentic:
– to be more concerned with truth than opinions
– to be sincere and not pretend
– to be free from hypocrisy: “walk your talk”
– to know who you are and to be that person
– to not fear others seeing your vulnerabilities
– being confident to walk away from situations where you can’t be yourself
– being awake to your own feelings
– being free from others’ opinions of you
– accepting and loving yourself”

― Sue Fitzmaurice

Strive to always be your authentic self. Be confident in who you are regardless of what others may say. Be willing to stand up for what you believe and never waver from your convictions. Simply put, live your truth and the rest will fall in place.

Peace Comes From Within

“Some people think that a place can save them… Like if they could just be somewhere else, their lives would be totally different. They could finally be the people they always wanted to be. But to me, a place is just a place. If you really want things to change, you can make them change no matter where you are.”

― Hannah Harrington

How often have you found yourself saying, “If I had more money, a better job, a better house, etc. …I would be happy and could start living the life I always imagined and be the person I want to be.” Well, guess what, having all those things won’t magically fill the void and emptiness inside of you and make you happy. No, you must make the changes within and learn to find inner peace that transcends whatever circumstances you find yourself in.

Just Ask

“It’s never overreacting to ask for what you want and need.”

― Amy Poehler

Self care is the greatest gift you can give yourself. This means asking for what you need. It does not mean to suffer silently and be the martyr. Rather, it means not being afraid to say, this is what I want and what I need to be happy and healthy. And remember, what’s the worst that’s going to happen, someone says no….
