Make the Most of Life

“I believe that I am not responsible for the meaningfulness or meaninglessness of life, but that I am responsible for what I do with the life I’ve got.”

― Hermann Hesse

You and you alone decide the meaning of life. You can choose to squander and waste what time you have been given. Or, you can choose to take every opportunity- good and bad – and make the most of every breath you take. The choice is yours…

See the Beauty

“I want to see beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, in the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.”

― Ann Voskamp

It is an undeniable fact that life is harsh and unforgiving at times. And, it is so very easy to become jaded and hardened. But you owe it to yourself not to let life defeat you. No matter the pain and suffering you have witnessed and endured, do not allow the bad in this world to overshadow the beauty that surrounds us everyday in every moment. Never forget that waking up each morning and inhaling the breath of life is a miracle in and of itself.

Life Experiences

“You need to spend time crawling alone through shadows to truly appreciate what it is to stand in the sun.”

― Shaun Hick

Life is filled with highs and lows. And you cannot avoid the lows, the darkness, and the messiness of life. It’s a part of the journey we must all experience. And by crawling around in the mud, you truly appreciate the Sun when it comes out. For life’s pain and heartbreak teach us to appreciate the blessings surrounding us everyday.

Today is a New Day

“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

― Dalai Lama

Each day that you are blessed to wake up, make a promise to yourself to try to embrace all that the day has to offer. Strive to be a better version of yourself than yesterday. Strive to rise above the negativity that is bound to come your way. And most of all, strive to make the most out of the time you have been given for there is no guarantee you will get the opportunity to try again tomorrow.

Love & Relationships

“Love and friendship. They are what make us who we are, and what can change us, if we let them.”

― Emily Giffin

Life isn’t about what you receive but is about what you give. It is about spreading love and enriching another person’s life. It is about taking the time and care to cultivate meaningful relationships because at the end of day, this is what makes life worthwhile.

Life is a Precious Gift

“You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight.”

― Elizabeth Gilbert

No matter how bad you think you have it, you still have life. Never forget that it is a privilege to live and no matter how hard things may seem, there is always something beautiful within life. For some are fighting for their life, their right to exist, which so many of us take for granted. So, make it a habit to reflect each day on what you are grateful for as a daily reminder of how precious life truly is.

Embrace Today

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Each day is filled with ups and downs…good and bad…pain and regret. And you must be careful not to carry the baggage of yesterday into today. You cannot change what has already happened, but you can treat each morning as a new opportunity to try again so don’t waste it by being encumbered by the regrets of yesterday.

Choose To See The Good

“A pessimist sees the difficult in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

– Winston Churchill

Each day you must make the conscious choice and effort to see the good in every situation. No matter what challenge you face, there is always something positive to take away from it. Sometimes it’s as simple as learning that you are strong enough to weather the storm. Other times it may be that one door has to shut to make room for the right door to open. Life is all about the lens you choose to view it from.

Gratitude for Your Life

“No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs. Instead of thinking about what you’re missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.”

― Shreyasi Phukon

I’ve said it time and time again, life is truly a privilege that so many of us take for granted.  Yes, we all go through difficult times.  Yes, life can really suck at times.  But guess what?  You still have your life.  There are others out there fighting for their right to exist.  People who would give anything to go through your struggles because it would mean they at least have life.  So, each day take a moment to simply say thank you for being alive, even though life isn’t perfect.  Never forget that you are truly blessed to even get an opportunity to go through the ups and downs of life. . .the chance to try again each day.  So, instead of focusing on what you don’t have, try focusing on all the good that surrounds you.  Make an effort to express gratitude for your life.

Make Each Day Count

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive—to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love—then make that day count!

― Steve Maraboli

Each day that you wake up is truly a blessing. It is an opportunity to try again. Don’t ever take for granted that you will see the Sun rise tomorrow. So, make the decision each morning to make the most of every moment of everyday.
