Enjoy the Moment

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”

– Earl Nightingale

Life is too short to waste time sweating the meaningless bullshit that lurks around every corner. You will be absolutely miserable if you get upset about every disagreement, problem, and circumstance you encounter. So, instead, you must focus on letting go of things that won’t matter 6 months from now. And focus on the important aspects of life such as spending time with the people you love and spreading joy to others.

Work Hard

“Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.”

– Leah LaBelle

Nothing worth anything in this life comes easy. You will have to fight for what you believe in and have the unrelenting determination to go after your dreams. There will always be people around you who try to bring you down with their criticisms and negativity. But it is in these moments that you must believe in yourself when no one else does and keep singing your song. Don’t let others silence you or take your smile away.

Change Your Attitude

“Change your attitude and you change your life. You cannot control what happens to you in your life, but you can always control how you respond to it. The way you choose to respond is a reflection of your attitude. By changing your attitude, you also change your perspective and change your life.”

― Roy Bennett

Perspective, perspective, perspective. Life is all about your perspective. Whether your life is good or bad is determined from the lens you choose to view it from. At all times, you are in control of how you deal with what life throws at you. You can choose to let your circumstances control the quality of your life or you can choose to find peace and happiness in spite of your circumstances. For all it takes to change your life is to first change your attitude.

Real Change

“Strive to make small changes and learn something new daily, because there is always these experiences you have had to tap into for the future.”

― Roy T. Bennett

Change doesn’t happen over night. Rather, real, lasting change happens from taking small steps to change things in your daily life. It comes from learning new things and shifting your daily outlook. And before you realize it, all these small changes lead to real, long lasting transformations in your life.

Let Go of Negativity

“Do not empower your negative thoughts by giving them “legs” so they can run around your mind, creating worries, frustrations, and anxiety in your life.”

― Rodolfo Costa

Don’t let your negative thoughts consume you. For your thoughts have the power to impact your quality of life. If you feed negativity, it will cause you nothing but stress, frustration, and anxiety. So, choose instead to banish negativity and embrace more positive thoughts.

Get Moving

“No matter how short or long your journey to your accomplishment is, if you don’t begin you can’t get there. Beginning is difficult, but unavoidable!”

― Israelmore Ayivor

Every dream, every goal, and every journey must have a beginning. You must get up and put one foot in front of the other if you want to turn the next page in the story of your life.

Walk Your Own Path

“If you’re always following the crowd, you will never truly know who you are. Walk your own path.”

― Julian Pencilliah

At the end of the day, each of us must walk our own path. In order to grow, you must strike out on your own journey of self discovery and seek your truth. Don’t allow yourself to get lost in the crowd. Choose instead to take the untrodden path and pave your own way.

Worry Less

“It makes no sense to worry about things you have no control over because there’s nothing you can do about them, and why worry about things you do control? The activity of worrying keeps you immobilized.”

~Dr. Wayne Dyer

Too often we overwhelm ourselves with things that are out of our control. We stress ourselves out over situations that we cannot change and let it control our lives. This needless worry immobilizes us and keeps us stuck and miserable. So, you must make a conscious effort each day to let go of the things you cannot change and use that energy instead to focus on the aspects of your life that you do have control over.

Let It Go

“When you find yourself stressed, ask yourself one question: Will this matter in 5 years from now? If yes, then do something about the situation. If no, then let it go.”

– Catherine Pulsifer

Life is all about perspective. It is so easy to worry and stress about every little thing that happens throughout the day. However, how often does the thing we’ve been stressing out over turn into some trivial matter when you look back a month from now or a year from now. So, in this world that is so full of stressful circumstances, it is important to remind ourselves to ask, “Will this matter in 5 years”? And if the answer is no, like it often will be, choose to let it go, don’t worry about it, and move on.

Choose Your Thoughts

“I can choose how I’m going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life—whether I will see them as curses or opportunities. I can choose my words and the tone of voice in which I speak to others. And most of all, I can choose my thoughts.”

~Elizabeth Gilbert

Life and consequently happiness is all about perspective. You can be miserable because you choose, yes it’s a choice, to look at every bad or unfortunate circumstance as a curse or omen for a miserable life. Likewise, you can choose to perceive every unfortunate circumstance as an opportunity to grow. It can be as simple as a lesson on what isn’t working. You can choose to speak positively to those who don’t speak highly of you. You can choose compassion over cruelty. The point is you ALWAYS have the power to choose your thoughts.
